Discover Barcelona as a family
Barcelona offers a wide range of experiences to suit all tastes, and is an ideal destination for the whole family. Beyond its beaches and the Ramblas, you'll find that both young and old will love it. In this article, you'll find the most family-friendly side of Barcelona for your holidays.
Tibidabo
You'll find the amusement park on top of a mountain in the northwest of the city. Despite its location a little far from the centre, it's well worth the trip. From its heights, you'll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Barcelona.
Tibidabo offers a variety of rides, including a roller coaster perfect for the younger ones. Children will also love the car rides and the Ferris wheel. The park also has a wide selection of restaurants.
Address: Plaza del Tibidabo, 3-4, 08035 Barcelona
CosmoCaixa
At the foot of the mountain where Tibidabo is located, you will find this science museum. It is one of the largest museums in Europe, and it offers exhibitions on a wide range of subjects. From astronomy to zoology and geology, you'll find something for everyone in the family.
One of the most outstanding exhibitions is “Touch, touch!”, an interactive experience where children can learn about the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean under the guidance of experts. And best of all, kids under 16 don't pay admission!
Address: Carrer d'Isaac Newton, 26, 08022 Barcelona
Barcelona Bosc Urbà
Although Barcelona has several adventure parks on the outskirts, Barcelona Bosc Urbà can be enjoyed without a car. This indoor adventure park is located at the end of Avinguda Diagonal.
Offering three circuits with obstacles of varying difficulty, Barcelona Bosc Urbà is perfect for families with teenagers. The most complicated circuit is reserved for the over-12s and features attractions such as zip lines, bungee jumping and a punching bag.

Observing marine life up close is a fascinating experience for adults and children alike. One of the highlights for the little ones is the 80-metre-long underwater tunnel that runs through the oceanarium.
If you plan your visit on a Tuesday or Friday lunchtime, you can watch the keepers feed the sharks.
In addition, the aquarium has an area specially designed for the little ones, with interactive educational activities for children to have fun and learn at the same time.
